a friend came round to help me revise and forgot to log out of her facebook on my laptop so I’ve spent the last 20 minutes devoting her facebook to trains.

I’ve also got the middle name “ILikeTrains” pending and have joined 50 “I love trains” groups.

You should have heard by now from the news and at twitter about what happened in my country…

This is what is happening currently in my country, where just a few minutes ago, Prime Minister was live on TV, ignoring the incidents and calling protestors “alcoholic marginal terrorists” who are “damaging” public properties, not even mentioning the brute force applied by the police, calling demonstrations to end with saying “this is not how basic human rights and freedom can be achieved”.

I am following the tweets, most of them are in Turkish, and you have no idea how serious this is. Still, especially in Ankara, police are getting more violent in cities like Ankara and İzmir.

This violence and arrogance needs to stop now.

Open letter from the Turkish citizens to the prime minister.

Thousands of people are protesting against the government right now because of the violence and injustice they’ve been subjected to when they were peacefully protesting against government’s decision to cut down the trees and demolish a park.

Please share and let the world know that these people will not stand this torment and injustice anymore. They are chanting “We’ll have revolution!” and “Government resign!” and courageously resisting the police against the tear gas and physical brutality.
